What is the Free Nicotine Replacement Service and Chantix™ Program?

People who want to quit smoking or chewing tobacco can now take advantage of free nicotine replacement products and ChantixTM by calling the Cecil County Health Department at 410-996-5168. Available while funding lasts.

Who is eligible for the program?

The program provides nicotine patches or gum or ChantixTM to tobacco users who are age 18 and over and meet basic health requirements. The free program is available to anyone who meets income guidelines and doesn’t have current insurance coverage to pay for nicotine replacement therapy or ChantixTM. The nicotine patches and gum are available on a first come, first served basis. while funding lasts.

What is 1-800-Quit-now Program?

To register for tobacco cessation services call, the Maryland Tobacco Quitline, 1-800-Quit-Now. When you call the Quitline, a professionally trained Quit Coach will set up an individualized quit plan, offer nicotine replacement therapy to help with withdrawal symptoms, provide access to web services and mail you Quit Guides-a series of booklets designed to help you stay on track with your quit plan .Quit Coaches have over 240 hours of specialized training in tobacco dependence treatment. Many Quit Coaches are former smokers themselves.
