In 2022, Cecil County Health Department and Christiana Care, Union Hospital of Cecil County, in collaboration with partners on Cecil County’s Community Health Advisory Committee (CHAC), conducted a Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) for Cecil County.

The CHNA provides a foundation for efforts to improve the health of Cecil County residents. This report provides information on the health of Cecil County residents and identifies existing assets to address health issues. Results of the CHNA are used to determine health priorities that are included in Cecil County’s Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP).

Cecil County’s Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP) was developed through a collaborative planning process and included the county’s plan to address three identified health priorities for Cecil County:

  • Mental Health
    • Childhood Trauma
  • Substance Use Disorders
  • Access to Health Services
