COVID-19 cases are rapidly increasing in some parts of the country, especially in areas with low vaccination.

As of July 27, the percent positivity in Cecil County is 5.6% and the case rate is 8.89 per 100K population, well above the State average.

Given the increasing rates of COVID-19 in Cecil County, the following actions are recommended:

1. Effective immediately, the Cecil County Health Department is strongly encouraging the use of face coverings in indoor settings, regardless of vaccination status.

2. Now is the time to get vaccinated. If you haven’t already, get your second shot of Pfizer or Moderna. The second shot is critical to achieving the level of protection necessary to prevent severe illness.
