Annual Potassium Iodide (KI) tablet Distibution Event
Dates: April 7th & April 20th
Time: 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Location: West Cecil Health Center
49 Rock Springs Rd, Conowingo, MD 21918.
KI is distributed to residents who live within 10 miles of the Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station, located in Delta, PA. This is done as a precautionary measure in the unlikely event that there is a radiological emergency at the nuclear power plant.
REMINDERS:
- Residents should not take KI unless directed by public health or emergency officials.
- The Cecil County Health Department runs this distribution event annually.
- Please bring your drivers license or identification card.
The protective zone includes all areas in Cecil County within 10 miles of the Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station in York, Pennsylvania.
The boundaries for the 10 mile Peach Bottom Emergency Planning Zone in Cecil County are as follows:
From the Maryland/Pennsylvania border, west of Minns Road, then west of Ridge Road from Minns Road to Boyds Road, west of Boyds Road to Slicers Mill Road, and west of Slicers Mill Road to Route 1;
From Route 1, west of Route 276 to Route 273 and from Route 273 west of Harrisville Road to Liberty Grove Road, then north of Liberty Grove Road to Colora, then west of Colora Road to Basin Run, north of Basin Run to Liberty Grove Road, then west of Liberty Grove Road to Dr. Jack Road;
From Liberty Grove Road/Dr. Jack Road crossroads, north of Dr. Jack Road to McGlothlin Road, then north and west of McGlothlin Road to its end and then to the Susquehanna River.
The protective zone for this plan corresponds with the 10-mile EPZ established by the Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station.
