LiveStrong Participants Get Free YMCA Passes
Participants of the next 12-week LiveSTRONG wellness program will receive a free membership for themselves and anyone in their household for the three months the LiveSTRONG program runs. The program will begin on Monday, Mar. 14, 2022. This group will meet every Monday and Friday from 1-2 p.m. at the Cecil County Family YMCA.
LiveStrong is a free, 12-week, evidence-based program for anyone post-treatment or in treatment for cancer. You do not have to be a member of the YMCA to participate. This course allows individuals to take part in a health and fitness program with other survivors in a small group setting.
LiveSTRONG at the YMCA focuses on the whole person, not the disease. Through the program, certified YMCA instructors help participants build muscle mass and strength, increase flexibility and endurance, and improve energy levels and self-esteem. Coaching and motivation by YMCA instructors and the opportunity to share your story and support from other survivors are some of the benefits this program offers. Participants report significant increases in physical activity, overall quality of life, and fitness performance as well as decreases in cancer-related fatigue.
