CCHD Investigating COVID-19 Cases Associated with the Cecil County Fair

The Cecil County Health Department is investigating an outbreak of COVID-19 cases associated with the Cecil County Fair. Anyone who has been in attendance at the fair is advised to self-monitor for symptoms of COVID-19 and get tested if symptoms develop. Common symptoms of COVID-19 include:

  • Fever or chills;
  • Cough;
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing;
  • Fatigue;
  • Muscle or body aches;
  • Headache;
  • New loss of taste or smell;
  • Sore throat;
  • Congestion or runny nose;
  • Nausea or vomiting; and
  • Diarrhea.

The Health Department has free at-home COVID-19 test kits available for anyone who wishes to be tested. Given the increasing cases of COVID-19 in Cecil County, the Health Department strongly encourages the use of face coverings in indoor settings, regardless of vaccination status. Now is the time to get vaccinated. If you haven’t already, get your second shot of Pfizer or Moderna. The second shot is critical to achieving the level of protection necessary to prevent severe illness.
