One in five Americans will develop skin cancer in their lifetime. When caught early, skin cancer is highly treatable. Anyone can get skin cancer, regardless of skin color. You may be more at risk for developing skin cancer if you:
- Have had excessive sun exposure
- Use indoor tanning beds
- Are older aged
- Have skin that burns easily, freckles, or a large number of moles
- Have a family history of skin cancer
Individuals who are age 18 and older, uninsured or underinsured may be eligible for a no-cost skin assessment.
