FDA Recommends Pfizer Booster at 5 Months for Everyone 12 and Up
The Food and Drug Administration expanded eligibility for Pfizer and BioNTech booster shots to children ages 12 to 15 years old and that recommended that children ages 5 through 11 who have compromised immune systems receive an additional dose of vaccine 28 days after their second shot.
The FDA also shortend the time between the second Pfizer dose and the booster shot to five months, down from six for those 12 and older.
The booster interval recommendation for people who received the J&J vaccine (2 months) or the Moderna vaccine (6 months), has not changed.
